Been wanting to post this photo but IE kept hanging on me every time I tried. Well now I've succeeded :) It's the view from my friend's old room in college, which is like 6 flights of steps up, which explains why you can witness sunset over the city of dreaming sphires (that's what they call Oxford) from there. This photo is not as nice as some she has taken - once when she was bored she took a series of photos of birds circling the sphires at sunset.
The finalists are finishing their exams and we have been congratulating them in accordance with Oxford tradition. Take a look at http://community.webshots.com/user/op_dessert_storm if you want to know what I mean :p It's scary though, the thought that at this time next year I'll be in the middle of my finals, and after that, I'll be leaving Oxford for good. Much that I will be glad to be home, with all its comforts and familiarity, there's much that I'll miss about Oxford, and perhaps in particular, the freedom that being here accords me. 2/3 of my course is over; sometimes it seems like it wasn't too long ago that I first came. We were having dinner with some of the finalists a few days ago and someone asked them, won't it be strange knowing that some things that you do will be the last you ever do in Oxford? The last time you walk down Cornmarket Street, the last meal you cook, the last glimpse you catch as the bus departs. Saying goodbye is never easy.
Oh well I still have a year to go (and finals).
But first things first. Two weeks and two essays to go before end of term :)
