dun touch this draft oso hor..
ive been busy for a few days and yall came up with so many thought-provoking posts... very efficient huh...
anyway i shall blog a post out now although im not in the mood...if i dun i will succumb to my laziness and go back to tag-boarding...forever........
ok lah maybe not so kua1 zhang1, but it's time i wrote something about korea...before i forget everything. I havnt touched the video since i got my job...umm n i dun intend to so soon..coz my com is very unstable now due to the editing software i think.. (so that's why all the editing coms in my clubroom got problem..) argh...even now when im typing this, my com is lagging. guess this will take some time to finish typing.
the chocs i left in huisuo were bought from jeju island..this small volcanic island south of korea (err..small compared to korea lah..not singapore)..it's a beautiful island..too bad i dun haf any digital copies of the photos(except a few from the teddy bear museum)..all on film n havnt develop yet
****** insert huijun's paragraph here ******
(still feel abit wierd coz i havnt had dreams for a long time liao..n the first dream i had in a long time...is about this blog...y cudnt i have dreamt of some shuai4 ge or something..haha)
aaaanyway..back to jeju..i climbed up the Seongsan Sunrise Peak volcano (Mt Seongsan) there la...took around 20 minutes...all stairs..climb until my legs turn jelly..somehow it wasnt as bad as 2 sets of da4 liang4..hahah..was the first to make it up to the top together with my bro..it wasnt that high lah, but all the stairs make it seem v terrible to walk up.
the temperature was quite low there, but as we walked up the volcano we started stripping off all our jackets coz we were sweating like siao.. i would have totally loved the whole trip up the volcano if not for SOME people...
ok firstly, lemme complain abit abt meaningless stuff..when you walk up (or down)stairs, you tend to look down at your feet to make sure that you put them on the right place and not tumble down 182m worth of stairs..ok much more than that coz 182m is only the height, and the stairs were winding left and right.
so, if i keep looking down on my feet, how am i supposed to look at the scenery??? i hate stopping to look then walk then stop look walk stop look walk. anyway if u suddenly stop, ur going to cause a traffic jam halfway up the mountain, plus once u stop, it will be harder to start climbing again.. so most of the time was spent observing my feet..until i reached the top that is...
It was really breathtaking up there!! and i dun only mean the scenery!! there was a whole bunch of chinese tourists up there smoking and making a din...90% of them were smoking... -.- so those who just reached the top and panting like siao were treated to an excessive 2nd hand smoking session... cant hold my breath for long lah...panting so much, if hold my breath will turn blue.
if there was a breeze up there to blow away the smoke then good lah..but nooooooo..no breeze..wad irked me more is when i was taking pictures and some lousy chinese tourist juz shoo me away coz HE wanted to take pictures. Harlo??? i came first ok?? but it was quite farnie later on coz i witnessed a chinese vs chinese phototaking session.. that same guy who shooed me away was trying to shoo another chinese couple away at a different spot coz he wanted to take pics, but the couple ignored him n continued to pose for many many pictures..the more he tried to shoo them, the more pictures they took.
in the end the shoo-guy was shouting and cursing..almost got into fight...so unruly.. was laughing at him coz he lost the photo scuffle... but also quite embarrassing for me coz i also haf the same hair colour and complexion as them..and oso speak chinese...
anyway the volcano crater has a pretty sad story behind it..im not a very good storyteller, but i'll write something anyway..
there was an old lady with 100 sons (dunno how she give birth to so many)..They were very poor and had v little to eat, then one day, the old lady was cooking as usual using a large pot, and she accidentally stepped in. She withdrew her leg of course since it was so hot, but then she thought of all her hungry sons who havnt had meat for a very long time...and she closed her eyes and plunged into the pot...
the 100 brothers came home, saw that there was meat porridge in the pot, and gobbled down everything happily.. but the youngest son, who had a habit of only eating his meals with his mum around, went all over the house searching for the old lady..but he couldnt find her of course..then he noticed all his brothers eating meat porridge and felt that something wasn't right..
By that time, the pot of porridge was 3/4 empty, and the youngest brother went over to toss the porridge around using a ladle..and he scooped up his mum's skeleton..*gasp...he was so sad/angry/traumatised that he screamed at his brothers that they were inhuman and ran out of the house, up the mountain (Seongsan). His brothers were quite puzzled at his behaviour, but didn't realise anything and kept eating until they reached the bottom of the pot..
alright, so they finally realised they ate their mother..*cry *shock *wail..and ran out of the house to get their youngest brother back.. they couldn't find him anywhere, and when they heard a villager say that he saw the youngest brother run up the mountain, all of them went up after him...but they still couldnt find him..
then all of them kneeled on the mountain and cried over the loss of their mum and brother..they cried till their eyes bled..and turned to stone out of grief...which formed the 99 jagged rocks lining the crater now.. the blood they cried grew into the blood-red flowers around the stones, and it is said that when the wind blows between the rocks, it sounds like the mother wailing for her sons..regretting that her actions of cooking herself out of love for her sons eventually caused her sons to reach such a pitiful end..
this post is getting pretty long..shall split it into parts...
